Create a report

When you create a report, it's first saved as your private draft. To make a report available to other users, publish it by committing your changes.

Create a draft

When you create a report or edit an already published one, you create a draft version of it. A report can have only one draft version.

A draft stays private until you publish it.

Create an empty report

To create an empty report:

  1. Navigate to the Reports section of your project.
  2. From the top right corner, select New report.

Export an existing view

Instead of starting with an empty report, you can export an already existing view and adjust it. For details, see:

Duplicate a report

You can create copies of an existing report and modify them without impacting the original. To duplicate a report:

  1. From the report menu (), select Duplicate report.
  2. From the dropdown, select the target project.

You can also copy reports between projects that belong to different workspaces. Note that you need at least the viewer role in the source project and at least the contributor role in the target project.

Publish a draft

When your draft is ready, publish it. This action creates a new version of the report and makes it available to other users. Note that a report can have multiple published versions but only one draft.

There are two ways to publish a report:

  • When viewing a report, select Commit changes. You can also select one of the following options:

    • To specify the name and description of the new version, expand the Commit changes dropdown and select Commit with notes....
    • To publish the draft as a different report, expand the Commit changes dropdown and select Commit as new report.
  • In the Reports section, from the private draft menu (), select Publish changes.

Edit a report

You can edit an already published report when viewing it. All changes that you make are saved as a draft.

To let other users see your changes, publish the draft as a new version of the report.

Rename report

To rename the report:

  1. View the report.
  2. Hover over the report name and click the Edit icon.

Versioning

Each time you publish a report, you create a new version of it.

Access version history

To view all versions of a report:

  1. Switch to the viewing mode.
  2. From the report menu (), select Version Control.

Edit and share versions

In the version history, hover over a version and open its options () to access the following actions:

  • Copy and share a link to a selected version
  • Edit version name and description
  • Restore an older version of a report
