Show or hide inherited datapoints
When forking experiments, the latest run inherits series data from ancestor runs until and including the fork step.
In charts, dashboards, and reports, use the Show inherited datapoints setting to control whether visualizations include inherited datapoints or not.
- This setting isn't supported for text logs.
Experiment mode
With the runs table in Experiment mode, each graph represents an experiment. If the experiment consists of multiple runs, they're combined into one unified experiment graph:
Runs mode
With the runs table in Runs mode, you can see each run separately, even if they belong to the same experiment.
You can either include inherited datapoints in the graph of each run, or display only metrics that were directly logged to each individual run:
Disable inherited datapoints
By default, showing inherited datapoints on charts is enabled.
To display metrics only from the selected run or experiment itself:
- In the runs table, go to Controls.
- Toggle Show inherited datapoints off.
Single-run mode
To disable inherited datapoints when viewing a single run, use the button in the toolbar.
When the button is greyed out, history is disabled.
